St. Petersburg, Russia International Youth (CADET) Team Tournament: March 26, 2011
Eligibility: Male athletes born in 1995-97

Competition Categories: Men: 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 66kg, 73kg, 81kg, 90 kg +90 kg

Host Federation will provide FREE Room and Board for the tournament.  Travel dates will be March 20-27.  A training camp will be held from March 21-25.  A team tournament will follow on March 26.

Iliadis Cup – IJF Jr “A” Tournament – Greece:
April 9 – 10, 2011
Eligibility: Women & Men born between in 1992-1996 from EJU / IJF affiliated Federations

This tournament is pointable with 15 points awarded for a gold medal, nine points for a silver medal, six points for a bronze and three for a fifth-place finish.

Competition Categories:
Men: 55kg, 60kg, 66kg, 73kg, 81kg, 90kg, 100kg, +100kg
Women: 44kg, 48kg, 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 70kg, 78kg, +78kg

Hotel: April 8-10.  Cost is 30 Euros per person based on double occupancy

Training Camp: April 11- 14.  Cost is 100 Euros for full board, including breakfast on April 11 through breakfast on the 14th

20th Thuringia International Cup For Women – Bad Blankenburg, Germany: March 18-19, 2011 Eligibility: Female athletes born in 1992-95 (U20) and 1995-97 (U17)

U17: 40kg, 44kg, 48kg, 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 70kg, +70kg
U20: 44kg, -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, -70kg, -78kg, +78kg

The Thuringia International Cup is a junior point tournament in the Tournament Not Listed Category for the U20 division only.  Five points will be awarded for a gold medal, three points for a silver medal and two points for a bronze.

Thuringia Training Camp (Female Only): March 20-23

Cost: 200 Euros – room and full meals for dinner on March 19 dinner and lunch on March 23.

2011 IJF Cadet World Championships Selection Criteria
Kiev, Ukraine
August 11-14


The 2011 IJF Cadet World Championships for 15-16-year-old athletes will be held from Aug. 11-14 in Kiev, Ukraine.

Team USA will include athletes from the following divisions for the Cadet World Championships: Women's 40kg, 44kg, 48kg, 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 70kg and +70kg divisions and Men's 50kg, 55kg, 60kg, 66kg, 73kg, 81kg, 90kg and +90kg divisions. Each delegation is allowed to send a maximum of two competitors per weight division to the 2011 Cadet World Championships.   

The Juvenile B division of the 2011 USA Judo Youth and Scholastic National Championships, April 2-3 in Grand Rapids, Mich., referred to herein as the "Youth Nationals," will serve as the Trials for the event.  In order to be eligible for the 2011 Cadet World Championships, all athletes MUST compete in the 2011 USA Judo Youth and Scholastic National Championships in the division in which they are seeking to be considered for selection

In order to compete in the Juvenile B division of the 2011 USA Judo Youth and Scholastic National Championships and / or qualify for the Cadet World Championship Team, an athlete must be born in either 1995 or 1996.  All athletes competing in this division must be United States citizens AND be eligible to represent the United States in Olympic or World Championship competition.  

The athletes who place first and second in each Juvenile B weight division listed above at the Youth Nationals will be named to the 2011 Cadet World Championship Team. 

If any of the athletes selected, according to the above criteria, decline for any reason, the person who is then ranked highest on the USA Judo Juvenile B Junior Elite National Roster, reflecting the results of the 2011 USA Judo Youth and Scholastic National Championships, will be the athlete selected for the team.  In order to be eligible for the 2011 Cadet World Championships, all athletes MUST compete in the 2011 USA Judo Youth and Scholastic National Championships in the division in which they are seeking to be considered for selection.  

An athlete who is to be nominated to the Cadet World Championship Team may be removed from the nominations for any of the following reasons, as determined by the Athlete Performance Committee:

* Voluntary withdrawal.  Athlete must submit a written letter to Eddie Liddie, Director of Coaching and Athlete Performance.

* Injury or illness as certified by a USA Judo approved physician (or medical staff).  If an athlete refuses verification of their illness or injury by a USA Judo approved caregiver, his or her injury will be assumed to be disabling and he or she may be removed.

* Violation of the USA Judo Code of Conduct. 

 

2011 IJF Junior World Championships Selection Criteria

The 2011 IJF Junior World Championships will be held from Nov. 3-6 Cape Town, South Africa.

Team USA will include athletes from the following divisions for the Junior World Championships: Women's 44kg, 48kg, 52kg, 57kg, 63kg, 70kg, 78kg and +78kg divisions and Men's 55kg, 60kg, 66kg, 73kg, 81kg, 90kg, 100kg and +100kg divisions. Each delegation is allowed to send a maximum of two competitors per weight division to the 2011 Junior World Championships.   

The IJF-Junior division of the 2011 USA Judo National Junior Olympic Championships, July 23-24, referred to herein as the "Junior Nationals," will serve as the Trials for the event.  In order to be eligible for the 2011 Junior World Championships, all athletes MUST compete in the 2011 USA Judo National Junior Olympic Championships in the division in which they are seeking to be considered for selection

In order to compete in the 2011 USA Judo National Junior Olympic Championships and / or qualify for the Junior World Championship Team, an athlete must be a United States citizen AND be eligible to represent the United States in Olympic or World Championship competition.  In addition, all athletes competing in the Nationals must be born in 1996 or earlier.
