Finnish Open
Nov. 7-8, 2009
Vantaa, Finland

The Finnish Open, a USA Judo Senior B-Level Point Tournament will be held in Vantaa from Nov. 7-8.   Competition will be held in all Olympic weight divisions with €1,000 being awarded to the gold medalist in each division.  

For the first time: The tournament organizers of the Sweden and Finnish Open have partnered to offer an additional €1,000 to any player who wins gold at both tournaments.

Sweden Open
Oct. 31 – Nov. 1, 2009
Boras, Sweden

The Sweden Open, a USA Judo Senior B-Level Point Tournament will be held in Boras from Oct. 31 – Nov. 1.  Competition will be held in all Olympic weight divisions with €1,000 being awarded to the gold medalist in each division.  

For the first time: The tournament organizers of the Sweden and Finnish Open have partnered to offer an additional €1,000 to any player who wins gold at both tournaments.

A training camp also will be held following the tournament from Nov. 2-5.

Rendez-Vous Canada
Oct. 17-18, 2009
Montreal, Canada

The 2009 Rendez-Vous Canada, a USA Judo Senior B-Level Point Tournament, will be held Oct. 17-18 in Montreal, followed by a training camp from Oct. 19-21. Additional information also can be found in the attachment to the right. Fully Funded Training and Competition Opportunity in Brazil, Oct. 8-20
USA Judo is pleased to announce that, through the new Brazil Connection high performance program, seven male athletes (one in each Olympic weight division) will have the opportunity to train and compete in Brazil from Oct. 8-20.

The trip, which will be led by a USA Judo coach, will include two team competitions against teams from Brazil and Argentina.  Athletes will leave the United States on Oct. 8 and arrive in Sao Paulo on Oct. 9 after which they will be transported to Maringa for the first team event on Oct. 10.  The first competition will be followed by an international training camp from Oct. 12-15.  The team will travel to Vitoria for a second team competition on Oct. 18 and depart Brazil on Oct. 19.

All team members will receive fully funded flights to Brazil as well as ground transportation within the country and room and board.

Athletes interested in competing must contact Alyssa Johnson at JohnsonA@usajudo.us by noon MDT on Sept. 8.  

If more than one athlete requests to compete in a division, priority will be given to the highest ranked athlete in that division on the USA Judo Senior Elite National Roster, dated Sept. 1.  Please note: All athletes must be ranked on either the USA Judo Senior or IJF-Junior Elite National Roster, dated Sept. 1 to be eligible for this event.  

Simon Bolivar Cup
June 4-7, 2009
Isla de Margarita, Venezuela

Jose Ramon Rodriguez and Golden Judoguis Championships
April 19-21, 2009
Havana, Cuba 

The Jose Ramon Rodriguez and Golden Judoguis Championships will be held April 19-21 in Havana, Cuba.  All Olympic weight divisions will be contested.
 
This event is a USA Judo Senior C-Level Point Tournament and is open to athletes currently ranked on either the USA Judo Senior Elite of IJF-Junior National Rosters.    

*Athletes under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a personal coach or a parent. 
 
Hotel Cost:
Double Rooms - $40.00 CUC per person, per night
Single Rooms - $50.00 CUC per person, per night

The 2009 Swiss Open, a USA Judo Senior B-Level Point Tournament, will be held April 18-19 in Baar/Zug, Switzerland.  Athletes interested in competed must submit their names to Alyssa Johnson by March 6 at JohnsonA@usajudo.us

Belgium Open (Men)
Jan. 31 - Feb. 1
Vise, Belgium

The Belgium Open, a USA Judo Senior B-Level Point Tournament for MEN ONLY, will be held Jan. 31 - Feb. 1 in Vise.

Belgian Ladies' Open
Jan. 31 - Feb. 1
Arlon, Belgium

The Belgian Ladies' Open, a USA Judo Senior B-Level Point Tournament will be held on Feb. 1 in Arlon.  On Jan. 31, the Junior Belgian Ladies' Open will be held for athletes born in 1990 or later.
