(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Judo is pleased to announce that the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation has applied and been accepted as a “Group A” member organization, effective March 1, 2010.

"We are excited to work with the leadership of AJJF to continue to grow judo and jujitsu in our country," said USA Judo CEO Jose H. Rodriguez.  “It will be our mutual goal to have the AJJF become more involved in competitive judo. Their program of judo instructors’ education is one of the best. This is going to be a win-win relationship for everyone.”

The AJJF is the fourth organization to be named as a Group A member and joins the ranks of the U.S. Judo Federation, U.S. Judo Association and the National Collegiate Judo Association.

“The American Judo and Jujitsu Federation is looking forward to the future in our association with USA Judo and the promotion and practice of judo – teaching sportsmanship and skills that improve the body and mind and applying them to everyday life,” said AJJF Senior Professor Tom Ball.

Established in 1958, the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation is a non-profit corporation represented by jujitsu, judo and other martial arts schools throughout the United States and around the world.

"We would like to welcome the AJJF to the USA Judo family,” said USA Judo President Lance Nading.  “We will work in unison with the AJJF leadership to deliver great membership service to all AJJF clubs and individual members.”
