2007 World Championship Draws Blog
by Nicole Jomantas / September 12, 2007
7:56 p.m. Already my night's going well... Good news... I made it in to the draws... Bad news... my computer just ate my first blog. Pity that excuse wasn't around when I was in fifth grade...
8:08 p.m. Remember the first day of school when they call out everyone's names? That's what the beginning of each division's draw is like. They go down and list each competitor's name at the start of each division and the country's representative says if the name is ok. As we've been reminded you only get one chance and once the draw's done, no insertions, no corrections.
We're eight minutes in and we're on K for 60kg...
8:18 p.m. Taraje draws Cardoso from Portugal first round at 60kg.
8:24 p.m. Justin has a first round bye at 66kg and then Jean-Rene Badrick (GBR) who beat Justin in the U.S. Open final last year.
8:37 p.m. Ryan has a first-round bye and then Estonia at 73kg. Also in his pool is Bryan Van Dijk, European medalist who beat Ryan in the final of the Rotterdam World Cup in 2006.
