Personal: Robinson has been actively involved in many sports, including judo, football, golf and wrestling, from a young age and began coompeting in judo at the age of five.  Robinson was introduced to the sport of judo through his mother who was working with the coach of the judo program at the Warren Holyfield Boys & Girls Club.  Robinson says the sport of judo has taught him discipline, endurance and how to meet challenges in life.  Robinson has been successful on all levels of junior competition, receiving his first Junior National title in 2001 while competing with a broken toe; however, he says his greatest success was when he won the Junior Pan American Championships in 2007 in Santo Domingo where he had to face extreme physical and mental challenges just to qualify for the Team.  It was a time that his dedication to the sport was tested and, through it, he realized how much he loved judo and that sacrifice and determination lead to success. 

In early 2008, Robinson suffered the loss of his personal and athletic mentor, Sensei Eugene Goodson, whose death came suddenly to his family, athletes and friends.  Robinson dedicated his 2008 performances - including qualifying for his first Junior World Team - to the memory of his former coach. 

Now a sophomore majoring in sports management at the University of Colorado , Robinson's goal is to compete at the Olympic Games.
